![]() ![]() ![]() Job Access With Speech (JAWS) is screen reading software by the company Freedom Scientific which reads on-screen text interactively while a user engages with the computer. You can also go to the Detroit Public Library’s website to learn more about our “Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (LBPH)” services. You will need your library card or a guess pass to sign-up for the computer. Please ask the branch librarian for assistance finding the available computer and for help using the software. The Fusion JAWS and Zoomtext software is available on at least one of our handicap assessable computers at the Detroit Public Library branch locations. It provides a screen reading functionality program that allows blind and visually impaired users to read a computer screen either with screen magnification and visual enhancements or text-to-speech output. This Fusion software provides the ZoomText, with its screen magnification and visual enhancements for screen viewing ease, together with the power and speed of JAWS.
